Explore the Reymert (DeNoon), Arizona Ghost Town
We recently ventured out in the desert east of Phoenix to explore the Reymert, AZ Ghost Town. This is the only smelter complex that used to service the Reymert Mine. The direction signs all say Reymert, but it turns out this ghost town is actually the remains of a town called DeNoon. The mining town of Reymert was located about 2 miles east, has been completely destroyed, and there is now a privately owned mining operation on the former townsite. James DeNoon Reymert founded the town of Reymert in 1887, and the post office was established in 1890 but discontinued in 1891. He also founded the adjacent town of DeNoon,…

As you know, we love to explore Arizona. Sometimes we plan out in advance where we are going and sometimes we wing it. IS THE HISTORIC PINAL CEMETERY HAUNTED?
We just got back from visiting the Historic Pinal Cemetery near Superior Arizona. It was not the trip, video, or blog post we intended to create from this adventure. Things got weird. Now we are wondering if the Pinal Historic Cemetary is haunted. About the Historic Pinal Cemetery & Mattie Earp We left the house about 8 this morning to visit the graveyard for a second time. We had a quick visit there a few weeks ago and wanted to go back to do a video of the area. The Pinal Historic Cemetery is where Mattie Earp’s Grave is located. We love old Arizona history, especially the old west, and…

Bulldog Canyon Trail, Arizona
Last week, we took the family on the Bulldog Canyon Trail located just North of Apache Junction, Arizona. The kids have been working hard at their online school work and we all really needed a break. We decided to social distance ourselves on a local trail. We left early for the trail to beat any others that were feeling the same way we were. Getting out in the Jeep is such a stress reliever and allows us to forget all that is going on in the world for just a few hours. As of writing this, enjoying the outdoors is recommended for mental health reasons and still allowed in Arizona.…
Off-Road Trail Schnebly Hill in Sedona Arizona
Last week we headed for the hills. Literally. We met up with a group of outdoor enthusiasts for a drive to Sedona Arizona. We were planning on running the Broken Arrow Trail. But things do not always go as planned. We ended up on the off-road trail Schnebly hill and was able to earn a Jeep Badge of Honor. Broken Arrow Lives Up To Its Name When we arrived at the Broken Arrow Trail, one of our buddies was starting to have some transmission issues and had to return home. We were with a few other rigs, some built, some stock. Some of us decided to head over to the…
The Abandoned Ajax Mine – Arizona Ghost Mines
It seems that we are always up for an adventure. Since we moved here 5 years ago we have made it our mission to explore all the cool wonders of Arizona. We started out with a decent size list of things we wanted to see and we have been checking it off almost every weekend. That includes the abandoned Ajax Mine. Most of our adventures seem to take us on remote backroads. Luckily we have a modestly lifted Jeep / daily driver that can take us pretty much anywhere we want to go, including the abandoned Ajax Mine. Ajax Mine History In its glory days, the Ajax mine was primarily…
