Beef & Vegetable Stew One-Pot Camping Recipe
The amounts below are a rough estimate of the ingredients we used in the Camping Beef & Vegetable Stew Recipe:
Main Beef Stew Ingredients
2-3 tbsp Olive Oil
1 lb Stew Beef
4 cups Beef, Chicken, Vegetable or Turkey Broth
Extra water or broth as needed
2-3 cloves of Garlic
1-2 Cups Yellow Squash Cubed
1/2 – 1 Whole Sweet Potato, peeled & Cubed
1 Cup sliced carrots
Add as little or as much of the following dehydrated or freeze-dried ingredients. You may have to adjust the liquid accordingly. You can always substitute these ingredients for fresh if you do not have access to dried. We like packing as much dehydrated food as possible so we can pack lighter for camping.
Dehydrated Vegetables we added:
Our Homemade Seasoning Mix:
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Rosemary
- 2 tbsp Tomato Powder
- We make our own, but you can purchase it on Amazon – Tomato Powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp dried or 2 tbsp fresh Basil (optional)
If you watched the video and were eyeing the awesome spatula we were using, well you are in luck. We received the Alpha Outpost Camping Kitchen Grill Multitool Utensil which is included in their HADES box. This is the best camping kitchen tool we have owned. It is a spatula, knife, fork, and basting brush all in one, it is super cool and perfect for camping. We bring it with us on every camping trip.
